George M. Fosnaught

September 1, 1949 ~ November 30, 2016 (age 67) 67 Years Old

George M. Fosnaught, 67 of Mulberry, AR, formerly of Bairdford, West Deer Township, went home to be with the Lord on November 30, 2016. Born September 1, 1949 in New Kensington to Joseph M. and Bertha (Creese) Fosnaught of Bairdford, West Deer. George grew up in Bairdford and graduated from West Deer in 1968, where he played football. After graduating he enlisted in the US Navy. He served multiple tours of duty during the Vietnam War in the Philippines, where he met and married the love of his life. He also served in Antarctica. George retired from the Navy, after twenty years of service as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. He then went to work for the US Post Office in Arkansas as a letter carrier. Shortly after beginning his career for the Post Office, he was involved in a severe automobile accident which left him a quadriplegic. Because of the dedicated and wonderful care his wife gave to him, he was able to live a good life for the past nineteen years. During this time he actually went on to further his education as a counselor. He loved his computer, being able to talk and keep in touch with his friends and family with the use of a devise attached to his forehead. He loved his Pittsburgh Steelers, but most of all loved his family.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife of 46 years Julieta (Reniva) Fosnaught, his children George M. (Jennifer) Fosnaught, Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA, Janice (Dennis) Lawing of Albany, GA and Sarah Fosnaught of Wylie, TX, siblings Donna (Edward) Thornton of Buffalo Township, Diana Wendell of Buffalo Township, Joseph M. (Jamie) Fosnaught, Jr. of Cheswick and Gary M. (Mary Beth) Fosnaught of Bairdford, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister Debra M. Kubican.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of his life in the Deer Lakes Church of the Nazarene, 1838 Saxonburg Blvd. Tarentum, PA 15084, in the Curtisville section of West Deer Township on Saturday December 10, 2016 at 2 PM, with the Rev. Richard E. Wise, officiating. Local arrangements were entrusted to the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer. George was laid to rest with full military honors in the Fort Smith National Cemetery, Arkansas. View obituary online and leave condolences at www.siwicki-yanickofh.com
