Gloria J. Semler

Gloria J. (DeJohn) Semler, 91 of West Deer Township, died March 16, 2017 at her home with her family by her side. She was born April 23, 1925 in McKees Rocks to the late Daniel M. and Anna M. (Kaminsky) DeJohn, where she grew up graduating from McKees Rocks High School in 1943. Gloria worked as a secretary for BP Oil Company for 15 years. A former member of St. Mary’s of the Assumption for 47 years and now a member of St. Victor R.C. Parish where she has been a member the past 18 years. While at St. Mary’s Gloria was a Eucharistic Minister. She also worked at Bairdford Grade School as a Teacher’s-aid for several years. A member of St. Victor Young and Restless Club, the Hampton AARP and the West Deer Senior Center. She enjoyed crafts, painting, cards and especially spending time with her friends and family.

Survivors include her husband of 69 years Joseph W. Semler children Sharon (Charles) Roginski of West Deer and Daniel (Wendy) Semler of Shaler, grandchildren Mark (Danielle) Roginski of Natrona Heights, Matthew Semler of Calif., Danielle Semler of Shaler and Beth (Von) Ferber of Frazer Township and great-grandchildren Charlotte and Von.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Daniel DeJohn and her sister Ruth Schaming.

Family will receive friends Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Twp., where parting prayers will be conducted Tuesday 9:30 am, with a Catholic Funeral Mass in St. Victor Church following with her brother-in-law the Rev.
