James "Jim" Clair Christy, Sr.

James “Jim” Clair Christy, Sr. age 90 of West Deer Township, passed peacefully on March 14, 2017 at his home. Born August 9, 1926 in West Deer, where he lived a long and fulfilling life surrounded by family and friends. Beloved husband of Dolores “Jean” (Nock) Christy; son of late James Franklin and Mildred (Kennedy) Christy; loving father of Dorothy J. (Mark) Churilla, Deborah J. (Richard) Nicola, and James C. (Renee) Christy, Jr; adored grandfather of Nicole and Victoria; brother of the late Franklin Christy, late Victor E. Christy and the late Dorothy Christy. Jim graduated from Etna High School in 1944. Jim served in the United States Army during WW II and the Korean War. He worked for many years farming his land, driving school bus for West Deer and Deer Lakes School District and worked as a heavy equipment operator for Orris Construction.

Family will receive friends Thursday 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer, where funeral services will be conducted Friday 10 am with the Rev. W. James Legge, D.Min., officiating. He will be privately laid to rest in Bull Creek Cemetery, West Deer Township.
