Jerry E. Hanlon, Sr., 66 of West Deer Township died Saturday July 29, 2017 at his residence. He was born November 2, 1950 in Pittsburgh to the late James M. and Catherine E. (Baier) Hanlon. Jerry grew up in the Shaler area graduating from Shaler High School. Jerry moved to West Deer where he has lived the past thirty-two years. Jerry worked as an Allegheny County Deputy Sheriff for twenty-seven years and has enjoyed his retirement since 2006. He was a member of Transfiguration R.C. Church, Russellton, the Knights of Columbus # 5501 John F. Kennedy Chapter, Russellton and the PA Sheriff Association. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and especially spending time with his wife and family.

Survivors include his wife of forty-three years Shelia M. (Gillam) Hanlon, sons Jerry E. Hanlon, Jr. of Pittsburgh, Jeffrey R. Hanlon at home and Jared P. (Abby) Hanlon of Buffalo Township, grandson Oliver Hanlon, siblings, twin sister Joan (Fred) Panzenstadler of West Deer, Michael (Valerie) Hanlon of Richland, Carole (Wayne) Truman of Penn Hills, Patricia (Robert) Scott of Hampton and James (Peg) Hanlon of Greenville. 

At Jerry’s request a private family visitation and service was held in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Township.
