Martha Graznak

Martha (Charney) Graznak, 93 of Culmerville, West Deer Township died Sunday October 15, 2017. She was born December 27, 1923 in Curtisville, West Deer to the late Samuel and Breska (Barabonav) Charney. Martha has lived in West Deer all of her life. She was a 1942 graduate of Springdale High School, graduating as the Valedictorian. During High School, Martha worked at Bergenski’s General Store in Curtisville, she then went to work for her brother at the Culmerville Hotel, which was built by her brothers Fred and Andy in 1945. After graduating from High School she began working at Allegheny Ludlum, where she began working in the Purchasing Department and worked her way up to being an Executive Secretary where she worked until 1982. Martha enjoyed collecting dolls, reading, spending time with her family and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years John Graznak, her daughter Linda (Dennis) Sheariss of Crafton, her grandchildren Andrew Sheariss, Erin Sheariss, Scott (Carrie) Sheariss and her great-grandchildren Braeden and Alexa Sheariss.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings Fred, Andrew, John and Helen Charney.

Family will receive friends Tuesday from 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer where funeral services will be conducted Wednesday 10 am with the Rev. Alexander Poshyvajlo, officiating. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Indiana Twp.
