Earl R. “Butch” Dawson, Jr., 65 of West Deer Township, passed away after a prolonged illness on Thursday February 20, 2020. He was born May 5, 1954 in Natrona Heights to the late Earl R. and Helen A. (Baniky) Dawson, Sr. Butch has lived in West Deer all of his life. He was a 1973 graduate of Deer Lakes High School. He worked for over 20 years as an office machine technician for Caltronics. Butch enjoyed working with his hands, including woodworking, working on cars and fixing anything.
He is survived by his four children, Fr. Brendan H. Dawson of New Castle, Bridgette H. (Ross) Hinterliter of Moon Township, Julia M. (Alan) Dawson-Kelvington of Streets Boro, OH and Catherine M. Dawson of West Deer; his sister Jane Dawson of Cadogan, and his nieces and nephews.
Following Butch’s requests all arrangements were private. A private family Catholic Mass was held. He was laid to rest next to his parents in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Indiana Township.
