Irene McCorkle

Irene E. (Fisher) McCorkle, 85 of Bairdford, West Deer died May 27, 2016. Born November 12, 1930 in Harmar to the late Joseph R. and Elizabeth J. (Seminoff) Fisher. She was a 1948 graduate of Springdale High School. Irene has lived in Bairdford for the past 61 years. She was a homemaker and also worked as a waitress for the Tea Garden on Route 8 for over 5 years. She was a member of Bairdford United Methodist Church, Bairdford. Irene enjoyed crocheting, flower gardening and especially spending time with her children and their families.

Survivors include her sons Walter E. (Cheryl) McCorkle, Jr. of Fawn, Joseph F. (Donna) McCorkle of Verona and Bruce A. (Mary) McCorkle of Frazer Township and her daughter Vickie L. (Timothy) Altfather of Du Bois, 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren, brothers Kenny (Donna) Fisher of Curtisville and John Fisher of Calif., sisters Delores (Ed) Grandizio of Valencia, Dorothy (Emil) Kalinosky of Springdale and Carol Jones of Harwick.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Walter E. McCorkle, Sr., daughter Cindy L. Veri and Brothers Bert, William and Robert Fisher.

Family will receive friends Tuesday 9-11 AM in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Twp. where a funeral service will follow at 11 AM with the Rev.
