Fred W. Shipeck was born in the Lawrenceville section of Pittsburgh, Wednesday, January 8, 1936 and passed away peacefully at the Harmar Village Care Center on Sunday, May 12, 2019. Fred lived most of his life in Indiana Township and for the last 11 years resided in West Deer Township. Fred was the son of the late Frank J. & "Nettie" Zbikowski Shipeck & brother of the late Frank Jr., Eddie, Leo, Harry, Albert, Cecelia Shipeck Slack & Eleanor Shipeck. Fred was preeceased by his niece Frances Shipeck Pampuch. Fred is survived by many nieces & nephews & their families; Bernie & Frank Shipeck, Mark Pampuch, Arlene Shipeck Hummel &Ray Hummel, Lynn & Hugh Slack, Tom & Antoinette Shipeck, Stacy Shipeck Ziegler & Jason Ziegler, Linn Shipeck, Patty Shipeck, David & Kara Shipeck. Fred graduated from Washington Vocational High School in Lawrenceville and was a PFC Armor Crewman in the Army stationed in Fort Knox, Kentucky. Fred was an excellent carpenter and was in the construction business with his brother "Shipeck Brothers". Fred loved wood-working, old movies, his family times & all living things including all animals & caring for plants. He was well loved & his family will always remember his dry humor & wit.
A Blessing Service will be held at Lakewood Cemetery On Thursday May 16 at 10 AM with the Rev. James P. Holland, officiating. He will be buried with full Military Honors in the Shipeck family plot.
