Gerald R. “Dewey” Lawther, 78 of Bairdford, West Deer Township, died Sunday June 3, 2018 at his home with his family by his side. He was born November 1, 1939 in Richland Township to the late George R. and Jessie R. (Dobson) Lawther. Dewey grew up in Richland graduating from Richland High School in 1958. He has lived in Bairdford for the past 49 years. Dewey worked growing up at Pittsburgh Cut Flower, Richland and after he married for Citizen’s General Hospital for the building maintenance department where he worked over 38 years. He enjoyed gardening, flowers, being the neighborhood Mr. Fix-it, though he mostly enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years Donna M. (Lane) Lawther, his children Geri (Dan) Ogershok of Russellton, Rhonda (Donald Raynes) Lawther of Coulter and Don Lawther at home, his grandchildren Shellie Corson, Richard Bossart and Gerad Ogershok, his siblings Harold (Florance) Lawther of Mars, Robert (Cheri Conrath) Lawther of Mars, Daniel (Deborah) Lawther of Grove City, OH, Edward (Tina) Lawther of Middlesex, Evelyn (Tony) Catto of Middlesex, Harriet (Edward) Vasquez of Middlesex, Beatrice Rodrigues of Middlesex, Alice (Pete) Howryla of Richland and Sheryl Zabish of Beaumont, TX.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his Brothers George and William Lawther.
Family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer, where a funeral service will be conducted Thursday 10 AM, with the Rev.
