John D. Layhew, Sr. 51 of West Deer Township, died Tuesday October 8, 2019 at his home. He was born November 8, 1967 in Natrona Heights to the late Donald C. and Beverly A. (Keller) Layhew. John grew up in West Deer where he has lived most of his life. John worked as a mechanic at several local trucking companies for many years. He was a member of the Outdoor Life Lodge, Fawn Township. He enjoyed fixing cars and spending time with his children and close family.

Survivors include his children John D. (Britteny) Layhew, Sr. of West Deer, Alisha M. (Sawyer) Fraker of Evert, WA, Mikaela A. Layhew of Kittanning and Noah B.D. Layhew of Sumter, SC; grandchildren Laiklynn, Braelynn and Ellisyn; and his sisters Barbara (Mike) Kane of Sunmine and Donna J. Layhew of New Kensington.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Donald C. Layhew, Jr.
