John "Jack" McKrell Obituary

John H. “Jack” McKrell, 88 of Richland Township, formerly of Russellton, West Deer Township died Thursday April 19, 2018 with his family by his side. He was born October 27, 1929 in Curtisville to the late James B. and Frances V. (Campbell) McKrell. John grew up in West Deer and graduated from West Deer High School in 1947, he has lived in Richland since 2008 and prior to that in Connoquenessing Township, Butler County for over 17 years. After graduation from high school, he went on to receive his bachelor’s degree of Business Administration, from Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL. Following his graduation, John served his country in the US Army, during the Korean Conflict in Germany, achieving the rank of Corporal. After returning to the states, Mr. McKrell went to work for Magee Women’s Hospital where he spent over 25 years. During his tenure at Magee Women’s Hospital, he worked as the Director of Human Resources for 21 years and then as the Vice-President of Special Services for 4 years. Also during that time, Mr. McKrell received his Masters of Business Administration degree from Florida Atlantic University in 1975. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Evans City and the American Legion also in Evans City. He enjoyed traveling, reading, golf, sports events and music events.

Survivors include his brother James B. (Nancy J.) McKrell of Russellton and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his niece Judy L. McKrell.

Friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Saturday April 28, 2018 at 3:00 pm in the First Baptist Church of Evans City, 242 S. Washington Street #1, Evans City, PA 16033, with his Pastor the Rev. Dave Trepanier, officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Township. He was privately laid to rest near his parents in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Indiana Township.
