Leo A. Zak, 91 of Bairdford, West Deer Township died October 25, 2018 at his residence. He was born February 20, 1927 in Bairdford to the late Roche and Mary (Clossa) Zak. Leo has lived in Bairdford all of his life. He graduated from West Deer High School in 1945, prior to his graduation he was drafted into the US Army, serving as a Corporal in Germany during WWII. He was a life member of St. Victor R. C. Church, Bairdford, a Life member of the VFW where he served as past commander, member of the Moose Lodge, a life member of the DAV and was a member of the St. Victor Men’s Club and the Church Y & R Group. Leo enjoyed gardening and was active in attending military honors for other fallen veterans and especially honoring them during the Memorial Day ceremonies.
Survivors include his sister Mary Ott of WY and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings Rose, Sophia, Anna, John and Stanley.
Friends will be received Friday from 10:30 AM until the time of the funeral mass at 11 AM in ST. Victor R.C. Church, Bairdford Road, Bairdford, West Deer Township, with the Rev. Thomas Wilson, officiating. Following he will be laid to rest in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Indiana Township with full military honors.
