Mary Rose Monarko

Mary Rose (Alioto) Monarko, 69 of West Deer Township died Monday August 5, 2019 at Allegheny General Hospital with her family by her side. She was born December 24, 1949 in Pittsburgh to the late Mario and Catherine (Machi) Alioto. Mary Rose grew up and graduated from Shaler High School in 1969. She worked at the J. C. Penny Catalog Center in Indinola for over 10 years.  Mary Rose has lived in West Deer for the past 45 years. A member of St. Victor R.C. Church, Bairdford and the Church Young and Restless Club. She enjoyed cross stitch, flower gardening, collecting snoopy and John Wayne memorabilia and traveling.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years Stephen T. Monarko, her children Sherry Monarko of Austin, TX, Brian Monarko of Dormont and Alicia McGinnis of Harrison Township, grandson Brandon Monarko and great-grandson Landon Monarko; her brother John (Dolores) Alioto of Reserve Township and her sister Antoinette (Ernie) Sotirake of Baden.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her grandson William Monarko.

Family will receive friends Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer where parting prayers will be conducted Friday 9:30 AM, Catholic funeral Mass will follow in St. Victor R.C. Church, Bairdford with the Rev. James P. Holland, officiating. She will be laid to rest in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery Mausoleum, Frazer Township.
