Wanda Phyllis Alex Hrobak

Wanda Phyllis (Wilton) Alex Hrobak, 95 of Oakmont, formerly of Russellton, West Deer Township, died Friday September 28, 2018 with her family by her side at Canterbury Place Family Hospice Care. She was born June 8, 1923 in Pittsburgh to the late Nicholas and Mary (Gedraitis) Wilton.

Survivors include her children Steven V. (Janet) Alex of Gadsden, AL, Cynthia M. (Frank) Kulikowski of Oakmont and Joseph (Kay) Hrobak of Silver City, NM, grandchildren Steven R. (Cindy) Alex, Lori A. (Lee) Shew, James V. (Janice) Alex, Brendon (Kate) Kulikowski and Christopher Hrobak, and her great-grandchildren James, Chappell, Sarrah, Andrew, Regina, Kevin and Michael. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph F. Hrobak and her brothers Edward and Frank Wilton.

Wanda was a kind, generous, loving mother.  An excellent cook and baker, she was known for her excellent soups and authentic Polish dishes. She dearly loved animals, flowers, dancing and the Lord. She was blessed with patience and unfailing faith and was a compassionate caretaker. Wanda was a member of the Transfiguration Church, Rosary Society and Canasta Club. She worked during the war for the military and was a beautician. She lived most of her life in Russellton and was happily married to the love of her life, Joe, for over sixty years. May Joe and his ‘Wendy’ dance in heaven forever.

The family invites friends to a Memorial Mass on Saturday October 13, 2018 at 10:30 am in Transfiguration R. C. Church, 100 McKrell Road, Russellton with the Rev. James P. Holland, officiating. Following the Memorial Mass the family invites friends to a luncheon to share stories and memories of Wanda. At Wanda’s request, she was privately buried next to her husband in Deer Creek Cemetery, Harmar Township.
