Albert A. Doutt, Sr., 86 of West Deer Township, died Sunday November 28, 2021 at Vincentian Memory Lane, McCandless. He was born April 24, 1935 in Natrona Heights to the late James D. and Bernice F. (Smolak) Doutt. Al grew up in East Deer graduating from East Deer High School in 1953. He then graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 1956 and earned an additional bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering while working and attending night school. After college he was employed at PPG Industries for 32 years and was involved in the research and development of automotive glass products, including numerous product patents. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, West Deer. Al enjoyed golfing and fishing, though especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years Phyllis M. (Dobrzynski) Doutt, his children Albert A. (Janeen) Doutt, Jr. of Hampton, Bonnie (Dennis) Duryea of Lower Burrell and Chris Doutt of West Deer; grandchildren Dennis (Stacey) Duryea of Hershey, Scott (Samantha) Duryea of Morgantown, Neal (Jennifer) Duryea of Sewickley, Sean Doutt and Margaret Pusateri of Pittsburgh, Matthew Doutt and Shannon Weber of Charleston, SC, and Lauren Doutt and Ryan Panza of Pittsburgh, 8 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Twp. Funeral mass will be conducted Thursday 10 am in Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. Victor campus. He will be laid to rest in Holy Savior Cemetery, Richland Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, 1 N Linden Street, Duquesne, PA 15110.
