Anna Marie Horrick

Anna Marie (Marshalek) Horrick, 97 of Russellton, West Deer Township, died peacefully surrounded by family on Monday December 19, 2022 at the Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care in Washington. She was born January 7, 1925 in Russellton to the late Frank G. and Sophie (Tyksinski) Marshalek. Mrs. Horrick grew up and has lived in Russellton her entire life. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, West Deer, the West Deer Travelers Club, was a long time treasurer for the Russellton Elementary PTA and was a volunteer with the local Girls Scout Troup. Anna Marie was the owner of Horrick’s Market in Russellton which she operated for over 30 years and was still affectionately known as "The Candy Store Lady" to this day. She then went to work at Action Industries in Harwick as a machine operator, working there for over 21 years until she retired at the age of 72½. Anna Marie enjoyed traveling, dancing, gardening, baking and especially spending time with her family.

Survivors include her daughter Marsha A. (Dennis) King of Richland, grandchildren; Bridgit M. (Jon) Stonestreet of Nottingham Township, Brian D. (Kerri) King of Hampton and Bonnie L. (Brian Harper) King of Middlesex Township, great-grandchildren Alexis (and her fiancé Ryan Kline) King, Makayla King, Ryleigh King and Oliver King, her great-great-grandson Grayson King, and her sister Bridget A. Nicholson of Glenshaw.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John N. Horrick, her son David J. Horrick, granddaughter Beth Ann King and her siblings; Virgie Marshalek, Helen Marshalek, Doris Swaiko and John Marshalek.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Strabane Woods of Washington for the outstanding care and compassion they showed during Anna Marie’s short stay at her apartment. As well as Bridges Hospice for their compassionate outstanding care of Anna Marie.

Family will receive friends Friday from 2-8 PM in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Twp., where parting prayers will be Saturday 9:30 AM with a Catholic Funeral Mass following in Our Lady of the Lakes Parish - Transfiguration Church, Russellton.
