Antoinette “Toni” (Stunja) McCorkle, 80 of Bairdford, West Deer Township, died Saturday January 23, 2021, at Mary Mount Hospital, Garfield Heights, OH. She was born July 18, 1940 in Pittsburgh to the late Anthony J. and Anna V. (Cvetnick) Stunja. Toni grew up in Pittsburgh graduating from Shenley High School in 1958. She worked as a Field Operations Clerk for the Allegheny County Housing Authority for over 11 years. Toni was a member of the Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. Victor Campus, Bairdford and sang in the church choir for many years. She also was very active in the Allegheny County and PA State Democratic Committees. Toni enjoyed playing bingo and reading books, though spending time with her friends and family were her No. 1 priority.
Survivors include her children Captain John A. (Susan) Stunja, retired of Lebanon, MO, Frank E. McCorkle and Stephen R. McCorkle both of Kittanning and Natalie (Dominic) Cipriano of Cleveland, OH, where Toni has lived the past several years; grandchildren David Matthew, Abby Elizabeth, Peter John, Brendan Robert, and Cameron Michael and her sister Anna Mary Karpuszka of Moon Township.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert E. McCorkle on July 27, 2015.
