Budd Mracna, 72 of West Deer Township, died suddenly, Tuesday January 6, 2026 at his home. He was born June 23, 1953 in Wilkinsburg to the late Elmer and Alice R. (McCreary) Mracna. Budd grew up in Penn Hills graduating from Penn Hills High School in 1971. He then went on to Carnegie Mellon University achieving his Bachelors in Arts as an Architect in 1976. Following school, he was hired by Peter F. Loftus, in a temporary position for the summer, then he was asked to stay on as a full time architect. He has worked for several engineering and architectural firms in the Pittsburgh area including S.B. Thomas Associates, WTW Architectural Firm and Buchart & Horn Architects to name a few. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Allison Park. Budd loved gardening and yard work, and especially loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years Mary L. (Baker) Mracna, with whom his relationship started in high school, his children Alexander N. Mracna from Charlotte, NC, Stevan J. Mracna of West Deer Township, Jessica K. Mracna of Nashville, TN and Rachel R. (Brandon) Buchanan of Buffalo Township, his grandchildren Haley, Owen and Charlotte and his sister Patricia A. Krenitsky of Pittsburgh.
At Budd’s request all viewing and burial will be private. All are welcome to attend a Memorial Service for Budd, to be held Sunday January 18, 2026 at 3 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, located at 2513 Wildwood Road, Allison Park, PA 15101. Arrangements were entrusted to the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Twp.
