Carl Vincent Antonelli, 64 of Curtisville, West Deer Township, died Friday October 3, 2025. He was born December 20, 1960 in Pittsburgh to the late Vincent Nicholas and Aldona Ann (Tautkus) Antonelli. Carl grew up in West Deer graduating from Deer Lakes High School in 1978. Carl always enjoyed tinkering with electronics, especially CB Radios. After high school he enlisted in the US Airforce serving his country honorably. He returned to West Deer where he met and married his wife, and has 3 beautiful girls. Carl always worked in the asphalt field, owning and operating his own company for several years, then went to work for Smullen Asphalt and Concrete, working for them for over 10 years. He then went to work for Penn Dot as a truck driver where he was still working. Carl worked for the state for over 15 years.
Quoted from his daughter, “Dad lived his life his own way. He loved being out on the water in his boat, riding his motorcycle, listening to Jimmy Buffett music and having a cold beer and a good steak. He was a kind person who, if you asked him for help, he would try his best to be there. Dad wasn’t the best at keeping in touch with his big family and it wasn’t easy for him to keep up with everyone, though we all knew he loved us. He was always a great Dad.” Having his 4th daughter in his 50’s only proved to everyone and himself, he was still young and full of energy. Most men at his age wanted a sports car, my dad traded all of that for more diapers and another wonderful daughter. The new daughter rubbed the older girls a little, though they quickly realized how much love she brought into all of their lives. Carl wasn’t perfect, and sometimes he had a short fuse. You could usually tell when he had enough of you when he would shake his head while rubbing his forehead letting out his signature groan. They all will really miss that motion of disapproval, though they all will miss him deeply in their own ways. They think Carl will be remembered for his sense of adventure, whether being on his boat on the water or hitting the road on his motorcycle. His humor, even if he didn’t always mean to be funny, those sighs and forehead shakes became part of his signature. He had a great work ethic, even working up till the day prior to his passing, his stubbornness, not in a bad way, but in “He did things his own way” They will all miss his cheesy smile and awkward laughs the most. “Rest in Peace Dad”
Survivors include his daughters’ Brandi S. Moyers of New Kensington, Laura A. Antonelli and her partner Carlos Torres of Apollo, Alesha N.
