Carl R. Ciampoli, 86 of Indiana Township, died Monday June 12, 2023 at Good Samaritan Hospice, Wexford, with his family by his side. He was born January 29, 1937 in Altoona to the late Donato and Ida (Gremesi) Ciampoli. Carl grew up in Altoona graduating from Altoona High School in 1954. Following high school Carl joined the US Airforce, serving his country during the Korean War, achieving the rank of Airman 1st Class. Returning from his military obligation he went to Boston University receiving a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering. Carl worked for the former Medrad Corp, Indiana Township as a Manufacturing Manager where he worked over 20 years. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, West Deer, the church Young and Restless Club, the Oakmont Elks, National Rifle Association and was also a member of the AARP in Hampton. Carl enjoyed playing golf, bowling, hunting and fishing, though especially enjoyed spending time with his family, most especially the grandchildren.
Survivors include his children Gary (Kathy) Ciampoli of Enfield, CT, Mauro (Sandy) Macioce of Hampton, Lisa (Tony) Altimore of West Deer and his grandchildren Richard and Matthew (Gabrielle) Macioce and Gianna (Milo) Altimore and his sister Helen Beard of York, PA.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Lucille A. (Simone) Ciampoli on 9-19-2021, his daughter Karen Ciampoli and his siblings Paul Ciampoli and Mary Krugher
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1-3 & 6-8 PM in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Twp. Funeral mass will be conducted Wednesday 10 am in Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. Victor Chuch, with the Rev. Joseph Mele, officiating. He will be laid to rest in Holy Savior Cemetery, Richland Township.
