Carolyn G. (Cleland) Carroll, 84 of DeBary, FL, formerly of Slippery Rock and West Deer Township, passed Saturday March 15, 2025 at Halilfax Hospice, Orange City, FL. She was born January 22, 1941 in Pittsburgh to the late Arthur B. and Hazel (Hochberg) Cleland. Carolyn enjoyed spending time in Florida the past 17 years though lived in the Pittsburgh area for her entire life. She was a teacher in the Pittsburgh area, being one of the first teachers to teach computers at the high school level in the United States. She was a former member of the Bairdford United Methodist Church, Bairdford, while her husband Rev. William R. Carroll, Sr. was pastor. She and her husband pastored at 5 different churches over her lifespan. Carolyn enjoyed classical music, playing the piano, cooking with her family, though loved spending time with them the most.
Survivors include her son William R. Carroll, Jr. of Florida and her granddaughters Madison O’Brien of Deland, FL and Fiona Carroll of Orlando, FL.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Rev. William R. Carroll, Sr. in 2022 and her daughter Ann O’Brien in 2019.
Friends will be received Sunday 6pm to 8pm in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer, where the funeral service will be conducted Monday 10 am with the Rev. Jerry Pawlowski, officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Plum Creek Cemetery, Plum Boro.
