Catherine Denise (Giza) Carson

Catherine Denise (Giza) Carson, 63, of Renfrew, formerly of West Deer, passed away on April 1, 2026, after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 15, 1962 in Memphis, TN, to the late Edward and Norma Jean (Price) Giza. Cathy was a loving wife and devoted mother, known for her hardworking nature and positive, accepting attitude. Cathy was a 1980 graduate from Deer Lakes High School and had an Associate Degree in Biology from Butler County Community College. She worked as the bookkeeper for over 25 years at Saw Sales and Machinery, Hampton. She also worked for over 17 years for Applebee’s, Richland. She was adored by everyone that came into contact with her and will be greatly missed by friends and family alike. She loved to travel, cook and spending time with family especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Scott A. Carson, her sons, Joshua (Melinda Smeltzer) Carson of Butler, Stephen (Sydney Rausch) Carson of Renfrew, and Lucas (Jenn Weaver) Carson of Banner Elk, NC. Cathy was an extremely loving grandmother to three adoring grandchildren, Gentry (Lucas and Jenn) and Eli & Chance (Stephen and Sydney). She also leaves behind two older siblings and their spouses, Karen (Ron) Plesh of Russellton and Michael (Jennifer) Giza of Richland, and several beloved nieces and nephews.

At Cathy’s request all viewing, services and burial were private. Arrangements were entrusted to the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer.
