Charles W. “Ike” Eichner, 91 of West Deer Township, died Saturday November 11, 2023 at his home with his family by his side. He was born July 6, 1932 in Pittsburgh to the late George and Marcella (Claus) Eichner. Ike grew up in Sharpsburg attending St. Mary’s School in Sharpsburg. He worked as a heavy equipment operator in the Heavy Equipment Operators Union 66 working for McChesney Brothers for over 43 years. Ike was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, West Deer. He enjoyed going to flea markets, collecting model cars and loved his cars, loved his grand-dogs, but family was his first love.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years Janet D. “Jan” (Lawniczak) Eichner, his children Cynthia L. (James Ashton) Hall of Shaler, David C. (Shannon Kelly) Eichner of West Deer, Lori A. (Blain) Price of Adams Township, Marcella “Marcy” L. (Scott Terpenning) Eichner of Cannonsburg and Marion M. (Daniel) Robinson of Butler, 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers George, Elmer and John Eichner and his sisters Marie Oblinger and Florence Eichler.
Friends will be received Wednesday 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer, where parting prayers will be conducted Thursday 9:30 AM followed by a Catholic funeral mass in Our lady of the Lakes Parish, St. Victor Church at 10 AM.
