Danielle R. Zinna, age 72, of West Deer Township, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on September 28, 2025. She was born April 7, 1953 in Bethesda, MD to the late Daniel J. Zinna and Marguerite (Regan) Zinna. Danielle was a graduate of the University of Virginia and earned her PhD from University of Connecticut. She was a professor at Bowling Green State University, Ohio, Trinity College, Washington DC, and the University of Pittsburgh. In addition, Danielle helped found and served on multi-disciplinary teams tasked with evaluating and developing remediation strategies for children with medical, social, and learning problems at hospitals in Hartford, Connecticut and Toledo, Ohio. She was also a member of a research team at Haskins Laboratory, Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. In later years, Danielle served as an inspiration to many due to her resilience and courage in the face of her progressing disease.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 44 years, Edwin J. Morris, and daughter Allyson Rico-Morris and her spouse Cat along with many others whose lives Danielle touched.
A graveside service will be held Monday October 13, 2025 at 12 Noon in Holy Savior Cemetery, Richland.
