Dante Martin

Dante Martin, 90 of Bairdford, West Deer Township died Wednesday April 9, 2025 at the home of his daughter. He was born July 19, 1934 in Pittsburgh to the late John and Margaret Martin. Dante grew up in Penn Hills Township, moving to Bairdford 60 years ago. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, West Deer. Dante served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked over 44 years as a brick layer and steel worker. Dante met his beloved wife Lillian at a dance in Creighton, PA. They were married for 58 wonderful years. He was the loving and proud father of Jeffrey Manni (Rose) of Burlington, MA, Susan (Allen) Schietroma of Richland, PA, Dina (David) Dunn of Harvard, MA and Sandra (Daniel) Connolly of Woburn, MA.  As a father and grandfather, he was a constant source of love and wisdom. He most enjoyed watching his grandchildren Anthony, Jeffrey, Katherine, Matthew, Samuel and Jack grow and flourish. In the past year he welcomed great grand-daughter Mila Rose Manni. 

Dante was most happy being outdoors or sitting on the porch with his wife, friends and family, with a good cigar and watching nature. 
Those who knew him will remember his strength, engaging conversation across a multitude of topics, love for family, wonderful smile and sense of humor. He was always willing to lend a hand to family and friends alike. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. 

Dante is also survived by his sister Anita Martin of Valencia, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Louis Martin.

Friends will be received Monday from 6-8 in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer, where a blessing funeral service will be conducted Tuesday 10 am with the Rev. Thomas Kadlick, officiating. He will be laid to rest in Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery, Verona.
