David R. Ivey, 76, of Hampton, formerly of West Deer Township, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at UPMC Passavant, surrounded by his family. Born on August 28, 1947, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late William R. and Mary E. (Bick) Ivey. Dave had resided in Hampton for the past 27 years. A 1965 graduate of West Deer High School, he married and subsequently attended the PA State Police Academy, graduating in 1969. Dave dedicated over 26 years of service at the Greensburg Barracks. Following his retirement from the State Police, he embarked on a second career, driving buses for Greyhound and later for Lenzner Tour Bus Company, for over a decade. He found joy in casino trips and cherished the time spent with his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Gail M. (Williams) Ivey; his mother in law, Edith B. Paskorz of Russellton, West Deer Township; his sons, Jeffrey D. (Karen) Ivey of Germantown, TN, and Timothy S. Ivey of West Deer; grandchildren, Eric, Owen, Brandon, Tristan, and Jada; and his brother, Wayne Ivey of SD.
Dave was predeceased by his sister, Sherri Ivey.
In accordance with Dave’s wishes, all services, including viewing and burial, will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Township.
