Delores J. “Tootie” (Hice) Criner, 89 of South Buffalo Township, died Friday August 11, 2023 at UPMC-Passavant, McCandless. She was born March 30, 1934 in Curtisville to the late James W. and Florence E. (Johns) Hice where she grew up graduating from West Deer High School in 1952. Delores has lived in South Buffalo for the past 30+ years. She worked at Glenshaw Glass over 25 years as a bottle maker and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Freeport VFW, where she enjoyed cooking for the patrons. Tootie enjoyed camping, going to flea markets and helping at the Freeport VFW.
Survivors include her niece Jamie L. (Lewis) Weston and her son Josiah of Leechburg.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Herbert L. Criner, her sisters Jamesalene and Diana Hice and her brothers Lewis and James W. Hice, Jr., Jamesalene’s twin, along with her niece Karen Hines and her children Robbie, Dale and Amanda.
At the Tootie’s request there was no visitation or viewing. A private graveside service was held with the Rev. Robert Henry, officiating. She was privately laid to rest next to her brother in Deer Creek Cemetery, Harmar Arrangements were entrusted to the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer.
