Dorothy Cenk Obituary

Dorothy R. (Ayres) Cenk, 91 of El Paso, TX, formerly of Indiana Township, died Sunday July 6, 2025. She was born January 20, 1934 in Pittsburgh to the late Ralph C. and Dorothy T. (Ayers) Ayres. Dottie grew up in Swissvale, graduating from Swissvale High School in 1952. She has lived in El Paso for the past 3 years and in Indiana Township for over 88 years. Dottie was a homemaker and member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, attending Transfiguration Church, Russellton.

She was known by many names…  Mom, Dot, Dottie, Dorothy, Nanny, Aunt Honey, Aunt Dottie, and Big D -- to name just a few!  She was a loving wife to Bill and mother to four sons and eight grandchildren!  Born in Swissvale, she spent most of her life in the Pittsburgh area before relocating to El Paso, Texas, to be near her son, David.  Dottie and her husband frequented West Deer Lions Club functions as well as many charity events.  Nanny was a fabulous cook and baked the very best cakes in the world!  She loved Steelers and Pirates games and Pitt basketball and wiffleball games in the front yard.  Camping and vacations to the beach were highlights of “family time,” and she cherished every moment.  She was a lifelong pinochle and bingo player and won more than her share of games!  Mom was best defined by her warm heart, an awesome smile, a great sense of humor, and a constant love of family and friends.  And she will most certainly be missed.

Survivors include her sons William E. Cenk, Jr., of O’Hara Township; David A. (Susan) Cenk of El Paso, TX; Robert G. (Kirstin) Cenk of Franklin Park; and Donald R. Cenk of Richland Township; grandchildren William III, David, Cheyenne, Shane, Leila, Maksim. and Ellis Cenk, and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William E. Cenk, Sr., her grandson Ryan M. Cenk, and siblings Gloria M. Dillie and Jeannette A. Lander.

At Dottie’s request, all viewing, services and burial will be private. Local arrangements are entrusted to the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer. View obituary online and leave condolences at www.siwicki-yanickofh.com/obituary/Dorothy-Cenk
