Dorothy J. (Romack) Smith

Dorothy J. (Romack) Smith, 97 of Fawn Township, died Monday May 11, 2026 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh after a fall at her home. She was born June 19, 1928 in Greensburg to the late Harry J. and Rose (Mauer) Romack, Sr. Dorothy grew up in Curtisville, West Deer. She has lived in Fawn for the past 50 years. Dorothy worked for PPG Glass and Liberty Glass for over 22 years as a glass cutter. She enjoyed reading, word search, watching wildlife in her yard, shopping and time with her family.

Survivors include her brother Harry J. Romack, Jr. of Curtisville and her sister Rosanne French of Lower Burrell as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James J. Smith in 2013 her brother Thomas Romack and her sisters Joyce DeVando, Ann Pazak, Catherine Sabatini, Evelyn Smith, Agnes Gaspero, Mary Berecin and Elizabeth Shields.

Friends received Thursday from 11am until the time of the service at 1pm with her nephew Scott Piroch, officiating in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer. She will be privately buried next to her husband in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Frazer Township.
