Dorothy Jean “Dee Dee” Fleissner, 68 of West Deer Township, died Saturday May, 28, 2022 at UPMC-Passavant, McCandless, with her family by her side. She was born February 12, 1954 in Pittsburgh to the late Donald R. and Nancy J. (Reed) Hunter, Sr. Dee Dee graduated from Shaler High School in 1972. She began volunteering at Allegheny General Hospital in the Nursery when she was 16 years old. After graduating, she went to work at Allegheny General where she worked for over 44 years as a Nursing Assistant and Unit Secretary. Dee Dee has lived in West Deer for the past 37 years. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, West Deer. She also worked as an EMT and Paramedic for various EMS Services including Etna, Millvale, McCandless and West Deer. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 37 years Paul J. “PJ” Fleissner, her sons Paul J. (Kelsye) Fleissner, II of State College and Adam J. (Patricia Stansfield) Fleissner of West Deer, grandchildren Pearce and Ivy Fleissner and siblings Bonnie (William) Dugan of Millvale, Donna (Stanley) Elliott of Vandergrift and Donald R. Hunter, Jr. of Sharon.
Family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Twp. where parting prayers will be conducted Thursday 9:30am with a funeral mass following in Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. Victor Church, Bairdford, with the Rev. James P. Holland, officiating. She will be privately laid to rest in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil, PA.
