Earl M. Matko, 75 of Lower Burrell, died Tuesday January 18, 2022 at UPMC St. Margaret’s with his family by his side. He was born November 8, 1946 in Russellton to the late Frank J. and Mary F. (Jug) Matko. Earl grew up in Russellton graduating from West Deer High School in 1964. Following graduation, Earl served his country during the Viet Nam war in the US Army achieving the rank of Sargent. Earl went to work for the Brick Layers Union (BAC Local 9 PA) working as a brick layer, in the Pittsburgh Area, for over 38 years. He was a 50-year member of the BAC Local 9 PA and the Parkwood Presbyterian Church, Allison Park. Earl enjoyed reading, traveling, home projects, gardening and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years Anne M. (Kinniburgh) Matko, his daughter Michelle (Jonathan) McKee of Lower Burrell, his grandchildren Keegan, Madison and Alaura, siblings Fred (Joyce) Matko of Bakerstown, David (Cathy) Matko of Carnegie, Larry (Jill) Matko of Mars and Eileen (Ted) List of Columbus, OH, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Twp. where a funeral service will be held Friday 10 am, by the Rev. W. James Legge, D. Min. He will be privately buried. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to the Disabled Veterans group of your choice.
