Edward J. Adams, 99 of Russellton, West Deer Township died Sunday March 12, 2023 with his family by his side. He was born October 6, 1923 in Russellton where he lived all his life to the late Bruno & Frances (Krzeminiski) Adams. Ed was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army with the 204th Combat Engineers, building the first bridge across the Rhine River at Oppenheim, Germany after the Battle of the Bulge. Ed also volunteered to go to Pearl Harbor after it was bombed to work for the US Navy. He was a retired coal miner from Republic Steel, Russellton. He loved to hunt, garden and loved his flowers, also loved going to the Wheeling Casino.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Sylvia A. (Schiberl) Adams, his children, Edward (Jeannette) Adams, Sr. of Frazier Township, Denise (Robert) Lightfoot of Irving, TX, Renee (Jeff) Full of Wexford and Lawrence (Chris) Adams of Portersville, his grandchildren Megan (Marc) Feeser, Meredith Adams, Edward (Julie) Adams, Jr. and Alexa (Bethany) Full, great-grandchildren, Aidan, Aubrie, Harper, Haley, Corina, Carter, Minta and Edward, III.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Stanley Adams, Bruno Adams, Sophie Cregeen, Lottie Adams and Bertha Bogdanski.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer, where parting prayers will be conducted at 9 am Thursday, with a funeral mass following at 9:30 am in Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, Transfiguration Church, Russellton, with the Rev.
