Edward Copelin Obituary

Edward P. Copelin, 76, of West Deer Township, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday July 1, 2025. Born on November 11, 1948, in Saxonburg, he was the son of the late Perry M. and Dolores (Yoest) Copelin. Ed grew up in the area and graduated from Hampton High School in 1966.

Ed proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era as a member of the Presidential Honor Guard, achieving the rank of Spec-4. Prior to his military service, Ed earned his associate degree from Dean Technical Institute. Professionally, Ed worked as a project manager for Consolidated Power Supply in the Navel & Commercial Nuclear Division, and with G.E. Westinghouse in the same capacity.

A man of faith and dedicated to his community, Ed was a longtime member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish in West Deer. He served as a high school CCD instructor for over 20 years, volunteered in the RCIA program and coached youth soccer for over 15 years. In addition to his professional and volunteer contributions, Ed was also the owner and operator of Copelin’s Stained Glass, which he passionately led for over 50 years. He found joy in stained glass, camping, fishing, and motorcycles. Above all, Ed cherished his family, who remained his number one joy in life.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years Patricia A. (Schneider) Copelin, his children Kimberlee A. Prescott of Dorseyville, Nicole M. Cutright of West Deer and Edward P. (Tammie) Copelin, Jr. of Hampton, grandchildren Katie, Anthony (Brittany), Josh, Ryan (Michael), Kiera, Jaiden, Addy, Ruby and Gavin, his great-grandson Hayden, his siblings Barbara (Donald) Bennett and Nancy (James) Laser both of Florida, Norma Coppick of Reno, NV, Judy (Mark) Burek of West Deer, Paul (Diane) Copelin of Hampton and Patty (Ron) Marberger of Myrtle Beach, NC, brother-in-law Thomas Yarmoski of Dorseyville and sister-in-law Kathy Copelin of Chicago, IL.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law Robert Prescott and his siblings Mary Ann Yarmoski, Mike Copelin, and Perry Copelin.
