Elizabeth "Betty" (Slimick) Radage, 96, of West Deer Township, died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022, at Holy Family Manor, where she had been a patient for the past three years. Betty was born May 31, 1926, in West Deer, to the late Paul and Catherine (Mackrel) Slimick. Betty grew up and has lived in West Deer all her life. She retired from the Deer Lakes School as a cook after working over 15 years. She worked at numerous other jobs in her lifetime, but the job she enjoyed most was being a mother of her three children. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, dancing and doing arts and crafts.
Survivors include her son, Michael D. (Susan) Radage; grandchildren, Kristen (Mike Bell) Radage, Michael C. (Susan) Radage and Stephen A. Radage; great-grandchildren, Lauren, Katherine and Megan Bell; and her daughter-in-law, Joanne Radage.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Radage; her son, Stephen C. Radage and her daughter, Vivian A. Boris; her sisters, Ann Savakes, Mary Rabick, Margaret Cheman, Rose Herman and Bertha Walsh; and her brothers, Frank, John, Joseph and Thomas Slimick.
Betty invites all to attend her funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, 2022, in Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. Victor Church, Bairdford, with the Rev. James P. Holland officiating. She will be privately buried next to her husband in Deer Creek Cemetery, Harmar Township, Arrangements were entrusted to the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Township.
