Emma L. Sauerwein

Emma L. Sauerwein, 90 formerly of Indiana Township, died peacefully on Wednesday December 20, 2023 at Concordia Lutheran Ministries Personal Care, Cabot, where she has been staying the past 3 years. She was born July 28, 1933 to the late Anton and Louise M. (Brim) Sauerwein, in the Troy Hill Section of Pittsburgh. Emma and her family moved to Indiana Township where she has lived most of her life. Emma was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, Russellton and was a Union Seamstress, working for over 20 years at a manufacturing company in New Kensington. She was a member of the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union, Local 549. Emma enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting and loved her cats, Tigert and Blackie.

Survivors include her nieces Jackie (Charles) McCullough and Deborah (Jeff) Thomas; 3 great nieces, 2 great nephews, 1 great-great niece and 2 great-great nephews.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Marie D. (Sauerwein) Greenwald.

At the request of Emma, a private graveside service was held in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer.
