Evelyn J. (Chraska) Bradt, 87 of Lower Burrell, formerly of Russellton, West Deer Township, died Thursday September 23, 2021 at her home with her family by her side. She was born May 26, 1934 in Millvale to the late Elmer and Margaret “Fritz” (Hartig) Chraska. Evelyn worked as a nursing aid for several nursing homes and lastly at East Deer Personal Care Home where she worked over 7 ½ years before she retired. She was a member of East Union Presbyterian Church, West Deer, the West Deer Senior Center and the Young and Restless group at Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. Victor Church. Evelyn enjoyed going on the casino bus trips, playing bingo, ice skating and travel in her youth and bowling, though her greatest love were her family especially the grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter Kristina L. Bradt, with whom she lived and her son Laurence E. (Denise) Bradt of West Deer, her grandchildren Rheannon and Erik as well as her brother Donald Chraska of Denton, TX.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles M. Bradt, her brothers Elmer C. and Russell Chraska and her sister Violet Sabolcik.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 2-4 PM in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Twp. She will be privately laid to rest next to her husband Charles in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Indiana Township. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the rescue that Evelyn frequently assisted with transports for, Lifesavers Animal Rescue Inc.
