F. Scott Bailey, Sr. 89 of West Deer Township went to be his Lord and savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday January 5, 2021. He was born in Morningside to the late Frank B. and M. Edith (Alcott) Bailey. At the age of 10 he moved with his family to their farm in West Deer, and has lived there for the rest of his life in the house he built on that farm property. He began his working career, with his father in his father’s business, Frank B. Bailey Heating and Roofing, and then he worked as a carpenter in construction and building and installing kitchen cabinets. He was a 1949 graduate of West Deer High School. Scott served his country during the Korean War in the US Army achieving the rank of Corporal. He was an active member of Dorseyville Alliance Church, Dorseyville, where he taught adult Sunday school classes and also served as an elder. Scott enjoyed reading and spending time at their camp on Edinboro Lake, also traveling with his wife to many of the states in their truck camper. His greatest joy in his life was teaching Bible studies in many different homes, which he was invited to do so. He also taught the Bible in his and his wife’s home.
Survivors include his loving wife of 69 years N. Jean (Stepp) Bailey, his son F. Scott (Kathy Makara) Bailey, granddaughters, Anna (Dan) Allshouse, Lauren (Brennan) Vasquez; grandsons Andrew Scott (Rashell) Bailey, Mark T. Bailey; great-grandchildren Jordan Allshouse and Carson Allshouse; his sister Janet Hohman of Saxonburg and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Dana Mark Bailey and his brother Donald Bailey.
