Gary Thomas Patterson

Gary T. Patterson, 83 of Penn Hills, formerly of West Deer Township, died Friday April 10, 2026 with his daughter by his side. He was born May 13, 1942 in Fairmont, WV to the late Charles D. and Martha E. (White) Patterson. Gary has lived in Penn Hills for the past year, prior to that in Shaler Township for 4 years and in West Deer Township for over 10 years. After high school he served his country in the US Navy. Gary was self-employed, owning several restaurants, cocktail bars and pizza shops in the Pittsburgh area for over 50 years. He enjoyed Pittsburgh sports and playing cards with his friends.

Survivors include his children Tracy L. Patterson of Wilmerding, Gary Patterson of Monroeville, Candice “Candy” Patterson of Irwin and Caitlin C. Patterson, with whom he has lived, 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and his sister Joanne M. of GA.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sharon A. (Nagy) Patterson on October 19, 2013.
