Gertrude (Gruden) Nycz, 93 of West Deer Township, died Tuesday April 6, 2021 at St. Clair Hospital with her daughter by her side. She was born November 16, 1927 in Renton the late Frank and Theresa (Vadnal) Gruden. Gert has lived in West Deer most of her life, graduating from West Deer High School in 1945. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, Russellton, was a member of the church choir and the Ladies of Charity. She was also a member of the SNPJ in Acmetonia. Gert worked as a lab tech for Golf Research for over 12 years, though she really enjoyed being a homemaker which she took great pride in. She loved Polka dancing and sewing, though loved her family and grandchildren. For everyone who knew Gertrude, we all know she loved everyone, helped everyone and had a smiling face and helpful hand for all who needed help.
Survivors include her daughter Laurie (William) Page of Upper St. Clair, grandchildren Christopher (Holly) Brody of West Deer, Shayne Brody of West Deer and Kyle Page of Chicago; great-granddaughter Lacey Brody, her brothers Frank Gruden of Springdale and Robert (Mary Ann) Gruden, Dallas, TX
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Frank B. Nycz November 4, 1997 and her daughter Leslie Brody June 12, 2012.
We will be following CDC Guidelines and do ask that you wear a mask, social distance and make your visit brief. The family will receive friends Friday from 9 AM until 10:30 AM in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Twp., where parting prayers will be conducted, with the funeral mass to follow in Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, Transfiguration Church, Russellton with the Rev.
