Harry Hawkey Obituary

Harry Hawkey, age 92, of Tulsa, OK, formerly of the Pittsburgh area, died February 8, 2024. Born August 27, 1931 in Cincinnati, OH, he grew up in the Pittsburgh area. He was the son the Harry C. and Laura L. (Drew) Hawkey. He was a Korean War Army combat infantry veteran and served as a Staff Sergeant in the Ninth Infantry Regiment, Second infantry Division in Korea. His awards and decorations included the Combat Infantryman’s Badge. He was a lifetime member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars. Harry was a retiree of Xerox Corporation, retiring after 31 years of service as a manufacturing Plant and Site Manager in Rochester, NY and Oklahoma City, OK. Following his retirement at Xerox he worked as a Plant Manager and manufacturing consultant for Allied Signal/Honeywell Corp. with assignments in North America and Europe.

Survivors include his daughter Jacqueline J. (Lawrence) Brunsman of Tulsa, OK, her children Michael Brunsman, Jonathan Brunsman, Eric Brunsman, Daniel (Michele) Brunsman, their daughter Kyle Marie Brunsman, his daughter-in-law Kimberly Hawkey and her children Stephen Hawkey & Laura Hawkey-Mouser, relatives in OH and PA and very special friend, Joan Armstrong of Tulsa.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Marion V. Hawkey, his children Sharon L. Hawkey and James F. Hawkey, his brothers James E. and Richard E. Hawkey and his sister, Carolyn R. (Hawkey) Rorer.
