Jack W. Irwin, 77 of Blanchard, West Deer Township, died Wednesday September 11, 2024 at UPMC St. Margaret with his loving family by his side. He was born November 13, 1946 in Pittsburgh to the late John “Jack” R. and Margaret (Cummings) Irwin. Jack grew up in Shaler attending Shaler High School. Following high school, he went to work as a welder/fitter for various steel mills in the area working for over 27 years. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, West Deer and the Steam Fitters Union Local 449, Pittsburgh. Jack loved old westerns, John Wayne movies, his dogs, hunting, fishing, was passionate about playing pool, camping and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years Frances “Fran” (Schmidt) Irwin, his sons Jack F. (Lisa) Irwin of Canonsburg and William “Bill” M. Irwin of West Deer, his grandchildren Colton and Ashley Irwin, his sister-in-law Jane Ebbitt Irwin of Plum and his brother-in-law James Brunner of Fla. and his special dog and companion LuLu who he didn’t go anywhere without. Finally, a special thank you to Bryan and Gina Olesnevich for always being there for Jack and Fran.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Daniel Irwin and his sister Gail Brunner.
Friends will be received Sunday from 4-7 pm in the SIWICKI-YANNICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Twp. A private family blessing service will be held.
