James W. Feil, Jr. 78 of Curtisville, West Deer Township, died Wednesday November 19, 2025 at UPMC Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh with his family by his side. He was born May 7, 1947, in Natrona Heights to the late James W. and Catherine M. (Ellwood) Feil, Sr. Jim was a 1965 graduate of West Deer High School. Following high school, Jim went and served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Following his service, he went to work for the Bessemer & Lake Erie Railroad as a track laborer for over 20 years. After retirement, Jim continued his working career going to work for PCA. Jim was an avid bowler, bowling for over 35 years at Deer Lakes Bowl participating in the Monday Night Men’s League as well as the Friday Night Tavern League. During his tenure, he served as officers for both leagues. In the summers, you could find him on the softball fields playing and coaching numerous softball teams in the area. He was also very active with the Owl’s Club in Russellton, holding various offices and positions, most currently holding the position of Vice President. He was also active with the scholarship committee. Jim’s hobbies were important to him, though his favorite hobby was his grandchildren, attending most, if not all, of their sporting events, school events and family events.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years Diana M. (Dehart) Feil, his children James W. (Tracy) Feil, III of West Deer, Michael R. (Cynthia) Feil of West Deer and Penny K. (Mark) McClelland of Verona, his grandchildren Amber (Eric), Brittany, James W. Feil, IV (Megan), Tiffany, Alexis, Mark and Ty, his great-grandchildren Lincoln, Ethan, Weston and Sutton, who he called his princess, and his sisters Jami (Ed) Smutek of High Point, NC, Joann Filbert of Shaler and Michelle (Allen) Reid of Chester SC.
Beaides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Linda Feil and step-mother Beverly Feil
Friends will be received Sunday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer, where services will be conducted Monday 10 am, with the Rev. James C. Ramsey, officiating. He will be laid to rest in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Indiana Township.
