Janet C. (Callen) Schlosnagle, 80 of West Deer Township died peacefully on Saturday September 13, 2025 at Harmony of Harts Run. Jan was born May 10, 1945 in Pittsburgh to the late John F. and Florence (Skinner) Callen. Jan grew up in Murrysville graduating from Franklin Area High School in 1963. Following High School she went on to IUP to study and achieving her teaching degree in Spanish. Jan taught Spanish at Dorseyville Middle School for over 40 years. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, West Deer, where she sung in the church choir for 40 years, and was a member of the church Young and the Restless Group. Jan was a very caring and compassionate friend to all, especially her children. She also loved her cats.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years Larry E. Schlosnagle, her son David C. (Cheryl) Schlosnagle of Vienna, VA, her grandchildren Holden, Tyler and Emma as well as her sister Marion C. Wike of Pittsburgh.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Joan Dash.
At Jan’s request all viewing, services and burial will be private. Arrangements were entrusted to the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer.
