Jeffrey L. Olar, 68 of Clearfield Township, formerly of Curtisville, West Deer died Monday December 8, 2025 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh with his family by his side. He was born February 27, 1957 in New Kensington to the late William J. and Bernice June (Matulis) Olar. Jeff grew up in Curtisville graduating from Deer Lakes High School in 1976. Following high school, he attended the Technical Institute achieving his Associate Degree in Electronic Repairs. Shortly after working in that field, he went to work for Duquesne Light on their tree trimming crew, working for them over 11 years. He then started his own tree business in 1990 which was Olar Tree Service and operated that business until 2022 when he had to retire. Jeff loved the outdoors, camping, hunting, hiking, tree work and sport shooting, though he loved his family, his children and grandchildren he loved most of all.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years Diane (Cortese) Olar, his sons Christopher L. (Kelly) Olar of Clearfield Twp., Alexander J. Olar both of Clearfield Twp. and Brandon T. Olar of Salisbury, MD, his grandchildren Christian J. and William J., as well as his brothers Randy A. Olar and longtime companion Connie Hamm, Kevin (Lisa) Olar and Ronald J. “Chuch” (Susan) Olar all of Curtisville.
Friends will be received Sunday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer, where services will be conducted Monday 10 am, with the Rev.
