John Robert Ellena

John Robert Ellena, 91 of Indiana Township, formerly of Harmar, died April 13, 2025 at his home with his family by his side. He was born May 28, 1933 in Bairdford, West Deer Township to the late Marco and Mary (Piccot) Ellena. John grew up in Bairdford graduating from West Deer High School in 1951. He served his country during the Korean War in the US Army achieving the rank of Corporal. John worked over 30 years as a Supervisor for Portec Corp. He was a member of Guardian Angles Parish, attending Our Lady of Victory Church, Harwick. He also was a member of the VFW, Springdale. John enjoyed getting together with family and friends, traveling and new restaurants.

Survivors include his wife Mary Louise (Adamsky) Ellena his sons Jeffrey J. (Linda) Ellena of Tomball, TX and Gregory F. (Crista) Ellena of Durham, NC, step-daughter Sheri Gould of Coco, FL grandchildren Alexandra N. Ellena of Tromball, TX and Justin C. Ellena of Gainesville, FL, siblings, Armando (Shirley) Ellena of Saginaw, TX, Mary Ann Striparo of Russellton and Cathy Sciolla of Bairdford.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Marco Ellena, Jr. and Donald Ellena.

A private family graveside service was held at Deer Creek Cemetery, Harmar. Arrangements were entrusted to the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer.
