John C. Peterson

John C. Peterson, 66 of Hempfield Township, formerly of West Deer, died Monday October 25, 2021 at his home. He was born October 4, 1955 in Pittsburgh to the late Earl D. and Mary J. (Hartz) Peterson, Sr. John grew up in Shaler graduating from Shaler High School in 1973. John went to work at his Father’s business Peterson Dental Lab, in Shaler, then owning it for over 25 years. After he closed his business, he worked for several other Dental Labs in the area. He was a member of East Union Presbyterian and formerly the Glenshaw Presbyterian Church. He was a WPIAL swim official for 35 years and was one of the founding coaches of the Deer Lakes School Aquatic Club. John was heavily involved in the local Cub Scouts/Boy Scouts.  John enjoyed reading Sci-Fi novels and watching Steeler Football.

Survivors include his sons Bret E. (Salena) Peterson of Moon Township, Kyle W. (Audrey) Peterson of West Deer and Trevor J. (Katie) Peterson of Bookville; grandchildren Liam, Declan, Cooper, Colin, Olivia and Matilda, his brother Earl D. (Sharon) Peterson, Jr. of Shaler Township and his former spouse of 40 years Carol (Beach) Peterson of West Deer.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his nephew Joseph D Peterson.

At John’s request all viewing, services and burial will be private. Arrangements were entrusted to the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Twp. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions should be sent to the Boys Scout Troop #653, 292 East Union Road, Cheswick, PA 15024.
