John W. Zang, Jr., 90 of Dorseyville, Indiana Township, died Saturday March 4, 2023. He was born March 23, 1932 in Aliance, OH to the late John W. and Sylvia (Stoica) Zang, Sr. John grew up in Pittsburgh graduating from Allegheny high school in 1950. John served his country in the US Army, stationed in Germany. After he married his childhood sweetheart Armella “Amy” Mock they moved to Dorseyville area where they raised their children and he has lived for the past 68 years. Following his graduation, he worked for Fair Price Gas Station until he was called by Dravo Corp. and then Bell Telephone where he worked for over 35 years. He was a Life Member of the Dorseyville Volunteer Co. # 172, serving as president two years and Vice President for two years. While a member he would help drive their Ambulance as well. John was a member of AARP Group #59, ACNA where he served on the Board of Directors, and a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, Bairdford where he belonged to the Y&R group. John enjoyed traveling to his camp in Potter Co., fishing at Crooked Creek with his wife and children, enjoyed hunting, going on cruises, traveling to Germany, Alaska the Arctic Circle, Wyoming, British Columbia and Nashville, playing cards, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his children John W. (Maureen) Zang, III of Greensburg, Gary S. (Sandy) Zang of Pittsburgh and Nancy Brozewicz of Dorseyville, grandchildren Kelly (Travis), Michael, John (Clare), Matthew, Corbin (Meredith), Troy, Tina (Sean), Chris (LeVana) and Matt; great-grandchildren Chloe, Lucas, Quinn, Caroline, Bentley, Alexandra, Bowen and Kai.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Armella “Amy” (Mock) Zang on September 7, 2020 and his twin Brother Victor Zang
Friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer. A funeral mass will be conducted Thursday 10 am with the Rev.
