Joseph M. Aber, 84 of West Deer Township, died Wednesday May 3, 2023 at his home with his family by his side. He was born May 8, 1938 in West Deer, to the late Robert M. and Marion E. (McCaslin)) Aber, where he has lived all of his life. Joe served his country in the US Army Reserves for over 6 years achieving the rank of SP5. He was a truck driver for over 38 years with the Teamsters Union, Pittsburgh working for numerous trucking companies including Freeport Transportation. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. Joe enjoyed building race cars.
Survivors include his wife Patricia A. (McCune) Aber, his children Reva Jo Butler of Fawn Township, Dale T. (Pearl) Aber of West Deer and Robert D. (Pat) Aber of Saxonburg, 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter and his sister Reva Nickle of Plains City, OH
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers William and Robert “Chess” Aber and his sister Marion Witten.
Friends will be received Tuesday May 16, 2023 for a celebration of his life at 10 am in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Township, with the Rev. James C. Ramsey, officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to West Deer EMS, 101 East Union Road, Cheswick, PA 15024.
