Joseph S. Mikus

Joseph S. Mikus, 83 of West Deer Township, died Tuesday November 19, 2024 at Magnolia Place of Saxonburg. He was born January 17, 1941 in Tarentum. Joe grew up in Springdale where he lived until his parents moved to West Deer when he was 12. He was a 1959 graduate of West Deer High School. Following high school, he enlisted in the US Army serving in the Signal Corps. Joe worked for over 37 years in the Duquesne Light Power Plant, Cheswick as a Shift Supervisor. He attended the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown. Joe loved farming and raising cattle and loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years Helen I. (Gillner) Mikus, his children Lisa L. (Wayne) Kirk of Darlington, MD and Darren J. (Kelli) Mikus of West Deer, grandchildren Laura Mikus and Darren J. Mikus, II both of West Deer and Anna Lisa Kirk and Kai Kirk both of Darlington, MD.

Friends will be received Friday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer, where a funeral service will be conducted Saturday 10:30 am with the Rev.
