Joseph A. Schroat

Joseph A. Schroat, 63 of West Deer Township died April 30, 2021 at home. He was born April 7, 1958 in Pittsburgh to the late Jerry and Hilda T. (Brucker) Schroat. Joe grew up in the North Side and attending Peabody High School. Early on in his life Joe went to work at Islay’s in Belview to help his Mom working there for over 10 years then went to work at Children’s Hospital, Pittsburgh in the environmental services department working there again over 10 years. He enjoyed watching Steeler football and Pirate baseball.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years Debbie J. (Baker) Schroat, his daughter Courtney (Matt) Verduci of Tampa, Fla and his step-son Michael (Allyson) Butler of Shaler.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his step-daughter Megan Ann Butler and his 2 brothers.

Family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 pm in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Twp. We will be following all CDC guidelines with everyone wearing masks, social distancing and keeping your visit short. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to West Deer EMS, 101 East Union Road, Cheswick, PA 15024 or given to the family to help with expenses.
